Love of Christ
Whether love really exists? If it exists, where it does exist? In earth, heaven or in both places? If it exist in earth, in what kind of form? Is it a feeling? Is it a thought? Mental image? Or a mixture of thoughts and feelings? Is it something created by God and placed in the heart of animals including man or acquired something which is showed by animals for the purpose of interaction and became a habit? Questions we can ask about love are unending. There are many definitions for love, that it indicates that none are perfect.
Love is abstract. It is not like a concrete material such as apple. We can perceive both. But perception is not through any modalities of sense in case of love. In other words love is subjective, not objective. Subjective nature of the love is important one to consider because we can’t apply the laws that applicable to material things to the ‘love’ and so it is not in the realm of physical body. If it is not in the physical body, where does it exist in human being? Mind, soul or in both? .In my opinion, love exist both in mind and soul. But qualitatively the love that exist in mind is different from that exist in soul as the substance of mind (ether) is different from soul.(mind is an outward expression of being, linked to physical senses, where as soul is an inward expression of being linked to God). When we consider the solipsistic view the love in one mind is different from that in another mind as the perception or the belief system regarding the concept or meaning of love is different in different minds. For example, the love in a female mind has a strong predisposition to care and concern, where as the love in a male mind has a strong sexual inclination. The difference in the love as a content of the mind is expected one as it is The something evolved in respect to the gene and the environment. differences exist not only in the insight of what is love but also in the quality of perception of love as it is. The love in the mind, I like to call it as worldly love.Similarly, the love in the soul/spirit is godly love. The love of the Christ is Godly love. Jesus Christ says:- (Luke 6:32-36 )
“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful”. Love of Jesus Christ is totally different from the worldly love, both in content and in experience.
